Capture an object in a few taps

The add-item form is the same on a phone as it is on a desktop, laid out for one thumb where the screen is narrow.

  • A bottom navigation bar on small screens moves between the overview, the catalogue, and settings.
  • Add an item, then attach a photo from the device's camera roll or file picker.
  • Changes save to your cloud workspace immediately, and a labelled recovery copy is kept on the device if a save cannot complete.

Look something up while you are out

The common reason to open an inventory away from home is to check whether you already own something.

  • One search box reads names, makers, years, notes, serial numbers, tags, and collection names.
  • Filter by collection or by owned and wishlist status to narrow a large catalogue.
  • Item detail shows condition, recorded value, value history, tags, notes, and photos.

Sync, backup, and recovery

A cloud workspace with an export button is more durable than an app that owns your data.

  • Records live in a private cloud workspace tied to your Google sign-in.
  • If a newer copy is found on another device, KeepsakeGrid loads it and offers to restore your device copy rather than overwriting either one silently.
  • Download a JSON or CSV backup whenever you want one.

What it deliberately does not do

Any tool for this job is only worth choosing once its limits are clear, so here are KeepsakeGrid's before you start typing in records.

  • Recorded values are your own estimates. KeepsakeGrid never presents them as appraisals, insurance values, or live market prices.
  • There is no barcode lookup, licensed catalogue data, or automatic pricing. Every record is one you type or import.
  • Private notes, serial numbers, wishlist items, photos, and valuation history are never included in a shared page.
  • KeepsakeGrid is a responsive web app rather than a store-installed native app, and it needs a connection: there is no offline mode.

Questions about collection inventory app

Is there an app to download?

No. KeepsakeGrid opens in a browser on any device, and you can add it to a home screen if your browser offers that. There is nothing to install and nothing to update.

Can I add photos from my phone?

Yes. Each item takes up to 4 photos of 5 MB each in JPEG, PNG, or WebP, chosen through your device's normal photo picker.

Does it work offline?

No. A connection is needed to read and save your workspace. If a save fails, the change is kept as a clearly labelled recovery copy on that device so you can retry it.
